Vanity Of Venus perfects that art in which piano, electronic and flute themes intersect without colliding but also without merely repeating each other. It is mostly an art of melodic fragments that float away, return, change, grow and blossom.
A cosmic breeze fuels Spellbound, while Tides Turned soars propelled by drum-machines and Vanity Of Venus sleeps in the arms of a gentle piano melody. 這是Beautiful World (美麗世界)樂團的第二張、也是最後一張專輯《Forever》(永遠)專輯。雖然年代已經比較久遠，但是在現在聽來依舊動人心弦。很難將它和之前的《In Existence 》(存在)，作個比較，因爲二者的風格差異比較大。但是從 New Age 發展趨勢，以及現代元素與部落元素的碰撞角度出發，我認爲這張專輯要好於《In Existence》(存在)。這裡的每一首歌的編曲都非常優美，聽著裡面的部落女聲用斯瓦希里人的語言來表演現代 New Age 的旋律並不讓人覺得唐突，反而是如此自然。少數幾首英文歌也非常不錯，讓人回味。專輯同名曲《Forever》相當優秀。非常特別的一張《Forever》(永遠)，已經聽了它好幾遍。感謝 Beautiful World 美麗世界的創造力，感謝 Beautiful World 美麗世界背後的人——Phil Sawyer。

Ever since I started having a keener interest in new age music, this two CD collection of recordings dating from 1983-1993 is a wonderful addition to my music library. The artist mix includes everything from the most acoustic trend as can be found in Eric Tingstad's music to the piano playing of Wayne Gratz. The songs carry you away to your own little world, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life into realms of absolute beauty, tranquility... where you may dare to dream!
There is a wide variety of styles and artists on this first Narada Decade collection. In fact, this two CD set gives a good overview of Narada recordings. It is a great way of introducing the genre for those who haven't yet discovered some of the world's greatest contemporary musicians. I consider this an excellent album, with one cd of acoustic new age music and one cd of electronic "new age".
I had always been a bit sceptical about electronic new age though I find it has matured in time. My preference is still for more acoustic music and the one presented by the Narada artists is incredible. I'd just like to add that most of the musical talent of today is concentrated in the artists you find in this Narada collection.

黑森林（Deep Forest）是由來自比利時布魯塞爾的Dan Lacksman（曾為Thomas Dolby、Sparks及YMO製作專輯而名噪一時）擔綱製作，結合了二位法國音樂家 Michel Sanchez 和 Eric Mouquet 在聯合國教科文組織（United Nations Educational, Scientific, And Cultural Organization 簡稱UNESCO）的全力支持下，深入非洲中部雨林區，以簡易的器材錄下麥喀隆、蒲隆地及塞內加爾之各矮人部族的歌謠，經過他們的巧思重新編曲，配上時下盛行的歐式舞曲節奏，以嶄新的風貌推向國際。Deep Forest透過揣摩想像將視覺的意象予以節奏化，用旋律滛天地萬物的情感取得和諧共鳴，所有難以言語的感覺瞬間舞動人類心靈，Eric Mouquet、Michel Sanchez兩位團員足跡遍布加勒比海、古巴、墨西哥、貝裏斯、馬達加斯加、音樂行囊包裹著矮人族、遊牧民族、非洲、東歐的樂音，在延伸人類眼界之餘，也企盼能縮短存在於世代與民族之間的鴻溝。

"Essence of the Forest" is Deep Forest's new best of compilation. The new album features 21 songs (a hefty hour and 17 minutes long) from their four studio releases as well as one song from Pacifique.
This CD was initially released to Japan in February of 2003 (released to Australia in August 2003), with the slightly different title Essence of Deep Forest. The release came just prior to Deep Forest's Japanese "Dear Friend" tour, which was supposed to be followed by an international tour (the world tour never panned out).
"Essence of the Forest" not only includes the Yuki Song,[Will You be Ready] and Sweet Lullaby (2003 version feat Ana Torroja) mixes featured on the Japanese edition, but also included are new 2004 mixes of Sweet Lullaby, Desert Walk and Night Bird. This may be the first time you are better off getting the European and not the Japanese release.
Deep Forest's Essence of the Forest was release across much of Europe February 12th, and will be available in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand the first week of March 2004.. ~ deepforestmusic.com

由香港“金弦天碟”脫胎而成的FIM公司，從一開始就把自己的唱片定位在極專精的發燒路線上。公司經常購買一些已經備受高度評價的名盤版權，拿回來後再用今日最尖端的數碼科技制版，令一些本來就大名鼎鼎的天碟，效果再上一層樓，成爲極品中的極品。
FIM的老板Mr. Winston Ma是香港發燒界的老前輩，對於音響器材有伯樂相馬之術。經他欽點過的器材都不是泛泛之輩。他以FIM爲品牌所生産的CD，錄音一般都達到發燒級水平。
Fim Audiophile Reference 監聽天碟自成一個系列，共有四張發燒唱片組成，第I輯是Classical Music，第III輯是Jazz Music，第IV輯則各類音樂都有。這張唱片爲系列中的第II集，屬於Popular Music，可聽性極高，也是我較爲喜愛的一張常聽唱片，當屬考究音響的扛鼎之作。
《Audiophile Reference II Popular Music》的曲目均選自Fim和金弦的數張知名發燒天碟，共15軌道，分別出自FIM 014、FIM 010、FIM 016、FIM 0005、GS 9701、GS 025、 GS 007、GS 030、GS 032、FIM 002、FIM 009、GS 023、FIM 005、GS 028等編號唱片。

這是一張很好聽的豎琴專輯——《Faces Of The Harp》(豎琴面貌)。1997年，Narada公司發行了這張豎琴選集，結果是銷量出乎意料的好。今天讓我們回頭再來仔細品味這張CD，漸漸能夠悟出一些它受歡迎的原因了。
毫無疑問，就如CD標題所述，這是一張當代凱爾特風格的豎琴匯演，但是我們在傾聽的時候能夠發覺，Narada並沒有拘泥於凱爾特風格這一範圍之内，充分吸收當代世界音樂的元素，這才是一張真正的New Age大碟。從墨西哥到秘魯；從美洲到日本；從Jazz到凱爾特民謠，多種元素，多種風格的融合，從豎琴獨奏到二重奏，甚至日本長笛，充分展現出凱爾特音樂強勁的張力。推薦第一曲“Austin's Planxty”。

這支名爲Beautiful World的組合其實就是Phil Sawyer這位在英國長大的音樂人的"美麗世界"。他曾組成Fleur de Lys、Shotgun Express樂隊，加入著名的Spencer Davis Group取代Steve Winwood的位置，又曾成爲搖擺殿堂樂隊Camel的一員，他的吉他及歌唱份量，公認爲有個性且有内涵！Phil Sawyer 亦於早年爲英國電視節目配樂，對音樂氣氛的推進可以說是駕馭自如。
他組成自我意念體系的Beautiful World美麗世界，就是將他個人的宗教思維，滲入第三世界帶出的民族聲音，加上由靜而動的内心流行曲推動力；在九十年代中，一曲結合英文及法文歌詞的《In Existence》(存在)，推出後，很快令Beautiful World這個名字響起來。
Beautiful World 一共出過兩張專輯，分別是1995年的《In Existence》(存在)，和1996的《Forever》(永遠)，遺憾的是 Beautiful World 帶給我們的只是存在並沒有永遠，現在這兩張CD已經絕版。
Take a journey from the Navajo to Africa and many places in between. Beautiful World is world music at its best. "In Existence" is not the most well-known of this genre, but a very good CD nonetheless. If you are a fan of Dead Can Dance, Deep Forest, Enigma you need to add this CD to your collection!
It's always rare to discover an artist so committed to a particular vision that he incorporates all aspects of his musical, cultural and spiritual experiences into one cohesive whole. Such a creative palette forms the core of Beautiful World, composer/producer Phil Sawyer's cosmopolitan mosaic which interweaves image-laden textures of exotic world beat, environmentally conscious musical vision, Eastern mysticism and even an occasional pop-dance vibe.
On ...In Existence, Sawyer blends English and French lyrics, as well as the traiditional chants of the Hopi Indians and from East African Swahili, underscoring these elements with melodic, meditative pop music. More an overall, multi-ethnic experience than an easily categorized adult contemporary release, it's best experienced in its entirety, as a journey to some sort of spiritual center.
A few of the more atmospheric pieces slow the pace down slightly, but the fluffy disco vibe of "Revolution of the Heart" more than redeems the moments where sonic wonder dominates melodic considerations.
There are hefty vocal performances in all tempos, but mainly the eleven tune collection finds Sawyer delving electronically into a positive message for the global community. ---- Jonathan Widran

Lex Vandyke毫無疑問是當代最出色的結他大師，讀者們都對他十分熟悉。唱片中選來二十首著名的拉丁名曲，除主題曲Historia De UnAmor之外，餘下多首選曲都是朋友們熟悉的，如Quizas，Quizas，Quizas、Guantanamera、Solamente Una Vez、Ansiedad、Caminito……

此外，Cuando VuelvaTuLado和Di Que No Es Verdad都是筆者的心水介紹，兩首樂曲都能夠充份表現出Vandyke的結他技術已臻化境，控制結他音色已達到随心所欲的境界。加上音響的高度傳真，令人有如置身現場看著Vandyke的演奏，乃夏日最佳消暑的唱片。
才聽了前三首耳熟能詳的作品，任何人都可以斷定這是一張不可多得的吉他測試片。雖然這張「情陷地中海」的內容收錄南歐、拉丁美洲等地的吉他流行作品，想要顯示出吉他這個樂器是多麼古早就受到歡迎，它今天應該擁有更全面的地位雲雲……。
但一聽到串串撥絃從喇叭流洩而出，我就立刻認為這是一張錄音方面絕對高水準的唱片。Top Music以最棒的設備，將凡迪克的吉他聲錄了下來，在發行這張SACD的同時，也發行了LP版，雖然才發行不到幾年，LP版在國外已經有極為權威的口碑。
美國著名發燒小廠為吉他錄音發行LP版，想當然爾它的錄音效果必定受人矚目，而事實上也不愧於大家對它的期待。「情陷地中海」可以說專門服務向來挑剔的音響迷而製作的，在LP版造成迴響之後，SACD版同樣保有溫潤而立體的吉他音質，而且伴奏的樂隊與吉他相比，也絕對不會遜色，展現出一流水準。
「情陷地中海」是一張音響效果優異不已的佳作，而它的音樂本身也讓人沉醉，「關達拉美拉」、「我的心裡只有你沒有他」、「短短三個字」、「綠色眼眸」、「一次幸福的機會」等曲子，就像香醇的美酒一般，入耳即化，聽起來完全沒有壓力。另外，擁有SACD版的人比擁有LP版的人更有福了！因為這張SACD裡收錄兩首LP版沒有的曲子。
